I writing a doc at the moment on the Toyota OEM fan clutch. Found some interesting results.
The factory clutch is marked "Aisin"
Whilst I was at it I stripped the aftermarket Australian brand name fan clutch that I had bought as my first replacement for the cruiser early in the overheating saga. The difference was staggering.
The OEM clutch was larger, weighed more, held 3x or more fluid, had 8 coupling rings instead of 1, had thicker fluid, was adjustable, and a more staged valve operation.
If your OEM one isn't leaking or has stuffed bearings, keep it. More fluid and tune it, but dont replace it with an aftermarket. If you have an aftermarket unit and overheating, try and find an OEM unit.
