Am currently looking to buy an NG wagon with the 4D56TI motor.
Not too many around locally, and I dunno just like the old style & the bonnet scoop
Seller says it prob needs turbo rebuild & injectors done
I am an industrial sparky and when younger always had older cars & tinkered with them
Is the above work, say new seals etc in a turbo and pulling out injectors to get them recond doable for someone at home?
I have the tools but not really worked on diesel before

NG question re turbo & injectors
Moderator: -Scott-
I have owned Paj's for about 8 years now (all TD) and I currently own the one that you described (2.5L TDI, bonnet scoop, older shape) but I have never really touched the stuff you mentioned. Just to give you an idea, back in 2005, my older TC05 turbo (from my previous NA Pajero) cost me about $750 to change with a recon unit. At the same time, my fuel injectors cost me around $100 each to recondition. It was explained to me that you can replace the fuel injectors with new ones, but they would cost you $400-$500 each. I'm sorry I cant be of any more assistence with the actualy hands-on stuff with these parts, but i'm sure that there's somebody who can!
1990 NG Paj TDI: 2.5 exhaust, 146l Longranger tank, snorkel, 2" suspension lift, 31" Bighorns.
1985 Holden Drover: 2" OME suspension & shocks, extractors, 2" exhaust, 235/75 MTR's
