hilux IFS 99 axel leak???

Post by Kingston_99 »

i just replaced my axel (CV) seal that sit in the diff on the drivers side. it took me two go's to get the seal sitting correct. i stuffed the first one and got the secound ond in pretty good. now i have put everything back together and filled with oil and it is still leaking when i drive.

now im starting to think: i may have goten the seal wrong (again) or it could be the metal ring thats sits on the seal when you put the seal back on.

has anyone had this problem with theres?

its a hilux 99 IFS and its on the drivers side of the diff

well no one seams to have had this problem before then??

not to worry i fixed the leak today. i ended up goin throught 3 seals over the hole job haha. but anyway i jus wacked a new seal in and put some toyota gastek sealer around the metal case on the seal and wacked her in and then ran another bead of seal around the edge and worked it in with my finger and seams to have done the job.

fingers crossed
