06' Hilux Sr Recovery Points???

Post by 07luxurious »

I have an attachment for the tow-ball at the rear, however for some strange reason there are no points on the front? Assuming the welded tie-down points are not worth crap. Can you purchase pre-fab points or am i better off getting it engineered?

You can buy a recovery hook from K & N heres a pic below -

I beleive it's made out of 8mm steel and has a tab on top to help spread the stress......

I have heard thou of some people bending them when snatching someone not directly in front of them but slightly off centre to the vehicle.

I didn't like how low it hung down so I made my own for my hilux out of 10mm steel plate with more mounting points and more support and higher clearance.

Heres my version -

Loosely fitted to the vehicle -

With ARB bar splashguard modified to suit and right hand standard tow hook cut off -

My version is shorter, stronger, give more clearance and I dont have the factory tow hooks anymore to get hung up on rocks....

Hope that helps.[/img]
