G60 Running in Front Wheel Drive

Post by Swerve »

Question ?

As I'm lazy and running out of time, does anyone see any problems in running the G60 in 4WD with the rear tailshaft and yoke removed ? Looking at doing a few thousand KM's over Christmas this way

With no load on the rear transfer output any perceived problems ?

I see no problem whatsoever with that.

I can't see any problems either, aside from the usual front-wheel-drive torque steer and weird/scary engine braking.

I drove my old Sierra from Mt. Buller gates back home only of the front diff, as the rear centre destroyed itself. The car actually drove really well, possibly even better, just on the front diff.
