lux on GQ chassis
lux on GQ chassis
Ideally i want a coiled up and powerful lux but im wondering if it would be easier to put hilux cab onto my RB30 GQ patrol chassis?? thoughts??
Why not just stick with the GQ then? And how can mention powerful and RB30 in one sentence
Seriously, either stick with a Lux or if you want the strong driveline get a GQ, everything else is just a waste of time and money IMO.
But each to their own, some people like to be different and willing to pay the price.

That was only because the Unobtanium axles he wanted weren't in stock till March next year.bogged wrote:Theres another thread in the Gen Tech section few weeks ago asking the same thing Collins someone asked about it.siklux wrote:Ideally i want a coiled up and powerful lux but im wondering if it would be easier to put hilux cab onto my RB30 GQ patrol chassis?? thoughts??

lux
for a few reasons, i love the shape of the lux bodies but dont like there motors or suspension and thought that a cab conversion would be cheaper than upgrading the lux's coils, diffs, motor and gearbox. Rb30 and power can be quite easily mentioned in the same sentence when that RB 30 is getting swapped out for an injected turboed motor, mate has one in his patrol and was a simple, cheap and powerful swap. Bogged any chance you can take 2 minutes to reply to my PM about name changes. cheers
Yeah mate.
They seem like a good thing.
There is one currently getting around at LCMP. Miles Newborn is his name I think. It's a white Xtra cab with style side on a GQ Chassis with Holden V8
Goes really well and regularly wins most of the gymkana events.
The cab is smaller and I can understand why you want to do it... so go for it... but in saying that if your just going to hammer it offroad, maybe the Xtra cab GQ thing is simpler and easier?
Don't let anyone talk you out of it though... if you want to do it, it is possible!

Re: lux on GQ chassis
I would say do it, as you said it is easier (even to get legal) swapping the cab onto a chassis and less work to make it right, then you end up with a stronger vehicle in the end. i have almost finished my navara st-r cab onto a lwb gq chassis and honestly think it was one of the best conversions i have ever done.
cheers mark.
