The Rust's guts!

Post by Vanne »

:P Hi , ive just started stripping and cutting back any rust on my MK, but i now recon i proberly shouldent ave started as iam finding SOOOOO much rust in the roof gutter and rear quater panels....

Dont realy know what to do, if i was gonna get it fixed properly id have to cut and weld new pieces in place, and would blow my budget out of the water. (would cost more than the little MK is worth) so iam left to boggin it up i guess...

I oughta take some pics just for the hell of it...

what about if i chop the roof and reweld another on is that do-able? or way to much hassel?

cheers.

bit sketchy but you could always lay up some fiberglass matting down the roof, then when set bog/fill to make it nice and smooth.

will buy you some years and cost about $50.

My mate is in the same boat, it looked like someone fired a few shotgun rounds into the roof. He did as was suggested and cleaned up the rust, fiber glassed the holes and then bogged. It's come up pretty well.
