GQ Diesel, Tacho not working???

I have tried a search but had no luck. Does anyone have any ides as to why the tacho would stop working, & where to start looking for the problem. Thanks....

You need to supply more info like year, motor size.
If its a 2.8Turbo 'could' be a problem in the control board that does the glow plug timing, as they are linked - had this problem after drowning mine - was a replacement unit - 2K from memory - but then could be something else.

Sorry guys, it's a 1989, 4.2L Diesel. The motor has just been replaced, & the tach is now not working.

have a look on the front of ur motor, on the timing cover on the passenger side up towards the top.. theres a small plate, with 2 12mm bolts holding it on and a wire comin out - thats ur tacho sender, make sure its plugged in may have been overlooked when the new motor went in

might be right might not be but its a start

yeah weird shit, my one stopped working and I went up an overpass link road that swept to the left, it started flickering, and i reefed a bit on the wheel and it has been working since. Id say it would be a poltigiest or something....logical
