Want to fit a Holden stroker to a 88 hi-line RRC

Post by 400HPONGAS »

Want to fit a Holden stroker to a 88 hi-line RRC . Will probably inject it using a VS /VT 808 and Tunerpro . Going to use a R380 originally , but I have 2 T700's sitting in the shed as well . It appears that no one does a Transfer case adapter to adapt the T700 to the LT230 . As the T700/4L60 is totally different to a T400 and way longer than a 4l80E and wondering has anybody adapted a T700 to the LT230 . The curent 355 runs 250RWKW so thats around 400HP at the fly on straight LPG but I wont be able to fit enough tanks to give enough range , so back to EFI

ok the t700 is not that hard to adapt to an lt.
Marks do a t400 to lt adapter and from what im told its the same one they sell for the 4l80e
U will have to fit stiffer front springs in order to carry the weight of an iron block as you may well know rovers are alloy blocks.

Well I rang Marks 4WD adapters , and as I said the 4l80E is nothing like the 4L60 and they do not and never have made an adapter for the 4L60 .
CRS and Dellows said the same , never made anything for the 4L60 . Dont confuse the 4l60 or 4L60E with a 4L80E , thet are vastly diferent ,The 4L80E is usually used in the Chev /GM Four wheel drives , the 4L60 is a car transmission . Output shaft is 3 inches longer , and has a totally different spline and spline length and spline position and extension housing bolt pattern.

yes exactly! Thats why i said 4l80e from what im told is the same adapter as a t400. I wouldnt touch a 4l60 if it was free.

Bout 2 months ago there was a t400 to lt adapter on ebay that went for about $150.00

I asked this last year and not many places do the kit. There is a few buggy builders in sydney area that do it but they were pretty dear and said that they have to twist it around on a funny angle to fit. If you search my name it will be there somewhere.

Hautech in brisbane may still do one for you? LT230 / T700 that is. No funny angle. To fit its run on slight angle so the front output clears the oil pan on the auto. Factory LT230 to ZF is on a bigger angle.
The input gear from memory needs to be bored out and the slip yoke shaft off the end of the commo driveshaft is then pressed in and welded. From there its just 2 plates cut to bolt to each face and a length of the right size pipe joining them together. The input gear when fitted to the auto has the slip yoke (thats welded into it) goes thru the adapter and slides on the end spline of the t700. Easy as.

Nottie, as you know with a 9 Inch , you can go fron ratios 2.3:1 to almost 6:00 : 1 , cheaply and easily ,Ive just got 2 9 inch diff centres with 3.8 ratio . if I need a lower gear Ill get someof those rock crawler low range gear sets . I wasnt really going down the road of building some sort of Dysfunctional Rock crawler . I was thinking the opposite , perhaps bagging it and slammin it , then down to Whoopass wednedays for a 13 sec quarter . What eve rparts your hair !!!!! LOL
