except for ratio, they are the same internally. NT=3.9, WT=3.7
But if you buy a pair, you'll have matched ratios
Externally the NT has a smaller drive flange. You can either change the flange on the diff, or change the flange on your tailshafts to get them to match.

Wheeling on completely wicked angles, without even looking stable.
u will have to take the big nut off both diff centers where your tailshaft joins and knock the flanges off, and swap then over

Once you undo the pinion flange nut, you need to replace the crush sleeve or there's no guarantee you'll achieve correct bearing preload and shorter bearing life & damaged gears are the result.danssurf82 wrote:u will have to take the big nut off both diff centers where your tailshaft joins and knock the flanges off, and swap then over
Much better to swap driveshaft flanges.

there is a 99.99999999% chance that you WILL achieve the right preload and pattern. don't be shy.Gwagensteve wrote:Once you undo the pinion flange nut, you need to replace the crush sleeve or there's no guarantee you'll achieve correct bearing preload and shorter bearing life & damaged gears are the result.danssurf82 wrote:u will have to take the big nut off both diff centers where your tailshaft joins and knock the flanges off, and swap then over

Wonder why suzuki don't say you can reuse the crush sleeve then?
I've seen too many trashed gears from incorrect setup to advocate cranking the nut up and calling it good. I don't believe it's a good idea.
Suzuki are very specific about when something can be pulled and gunned back up - example - transfer case flanges can be pulled and replaced without issue, but diffs can't according to them..... then again, what do they know?
It might be possible, but from the preloads and patterns I've seen suzuki diffs must be set up by someone who knows exactly what they are doing or they will last months.
I guess it depends on the $$ in the diff and the use of the car, but if I depended on it, I'd pay for a new crush sleeve as suzuki recommend (or get a solid spacer set up.)
Just my 2C.
