what have people built for their custom aframes ?
i was thinking of using a trailer stub axle and base the joint around that or am i better raiding one out of a rover?
this is for my scat project so im on a tight budget

IF you're on a budget, then a Rover A-frame, ball joint and axle mount from a Salisbury axle is cheap. You'll just need to build a mount on the ale for the ball joint mount.hillbilliywheelchair wrote:what have people built for their custom aframes ?

Yes, the A-frame and ball joint are the same, but the Salisbury diff has a little plate that the ball joint plugs in to and will tighten up on. That plate is then easy to bolt onto the axle housing. Its a lot easier to bolt that on than trying to fabricate a tapered hole in a mount like how the Rover axles are done. You can see in the top pic the holes that I've drilled out to take the mount and then the mount in place in the bottom pic.hillbilliywheelchair wrote:sunnie any reson from a salabery over a rover diff?

Here are the pics of the coiling of that series. Not too long after the suspension was coiled that chassis was scrapped as I found some rust in it that made it useless.

A Frame knuckle , totally greasable , manufactured by Glen Dobbin , Weld and gusset centre tube to top of diff , weld swivel joint onto a frame , as seen on glen dobbins Tuff Truck , brand new , got one if interested , Cheers Paul.
