Went for a spin..................auto stuck in first wont change out of first.

It wouldn't be the pump, if that was the case there would be no drive at all. The most common cause of it sticking in first is a faulty clutch pack in first (i think).
At least someone else did the work and you can just take it back to them. While it's a PITA, its better than doing the work yourself and finding out you stuffed up.

yeah we went for a spin in it with the auto fella.... fark never realise how hard my car went when the rev got up high in high range :)

It started to change abit after it warmed up, he said it was a sticky governer :?: valve....
He is gonna check it all again tommorow and hopefully fix it up soon.

I just hope its not from anything to do with the torque convertor braking and letting some shit get in there..(thats the worse case scenario)
EDIT: sorry that comes accross as if the torque convertor had broke well it hasnt and it still works fine he just sorta mentioned that cause it could clear his arse as we agreed on no warranty of the torque convertor. I told him the TC works fine and that it is not the problem

He seems to think it will be something thats got in there and clogged it up some how, I told him to put a filter on one of the cooler lines to help stop any posibilities of anything like this again.

Cheers

I would be 99.99% certain that it has absolutely nothing to do with the torque converter. As you said, its just a potential scapegoat for any problem that they may have caused. And yeah, governer valve is probably right.

If they supposedly did a full reco I'd imagine it has something to do with the quality of the work. :x
