I have a Walbro FRD11 lift pump ready to fit the GQ TD42T. Its mostly a touring truck so reliability is preferred over performance.
Where is the best place to fit it - engine bay or near fuel tank?
I have seen pics where peoples have fitted them near the tank, but have been wondering if it might be less prone to damage mounted under the bonnet before the filter.
What is the preferred option?
cheers

TD42T lift pump location
I run the same walbro pump. I mounted it at the back of the chassis next to the fuel tank on top of the 45 degree corner chassis piece.
In that position it is close to the tank and i didn't have to cut any steel lines, just got 2x 90deg brass fittings from pirtek or the likes and some 10mm hose etc.
Thats on a GQ wagon.
cheers.
