Post by doe »

Gday guys this may have been covered before want too know what the numbers after the h55f code mean. I have too 75 series utes one is a 1985model other is a 1995model. Question is 85mod has a h55f ko82 gearbox 95mod has a h55f ko85 gearbox what does the ko number refer too are they two differnt boxes? Been haveing trouble with the search every time I open a page too read when I try too go back I lose the search page.

The 85 is a petrol the 95 is a diesel.

Thanks Stan that makes sense I think it has gearbox/axle code on compliance plate now I think about it. So do you know if they are the same gearbox from petrol too diesel same ratios and the like?

Same. Only exception is the 4 cylinder diesel has a longer input shaft and clutch housing.

Gearboxes are different in many ways, geaxbox ratios are the same, transfer I am not sure. Main differences between your 85 petrol box and your 95 diesel is the input shafts are different, bell housing and depending on when in 85 the petrol box was built it might have the smaller 34mm idler shaft, the later 95 box will be a 38mm idler.

Thanks guys thought the input shafts may have been different was thinking of pulling 85 box out and rebuilding it to put into the 95 but if I have too change shafts need both out at same time. Be easyer too just rebuild 95mod box.
