dash light indicates "stabilizer is Off"

Post by angusogg »

g'day folks
I am trying to work out just what this light means.
I am of the view that the "stabilizer", is that lever which is housed under the dash, and which, when released, allows the rear axle to travel down further than "normal" in off road conditions.
But I cant see any electrical connection to it which would indicate that it is "on" or "off"
Am I looking in the right place
cheers Angus :?:

It's your rear sway bar release at the back, check that the sway bar link on the drivers side is pushed up (push it up by hand).
I assume you don't have a rear sway bar in? If you did it'd lock back in when the lever is pushed in and you go round a corner.

If you have a lift kit and you have not got lengthened sway bar links then the sway bar will often not click back into place easily just by driving. Best way is as mentioned above, lie under the car and push it up by hand until it clicks back into place. Then the light will go out on the dash

do you have a factory rear locker that is activated via vacume / solenoid?
maybe the rear diff has been changed but all the wiring left in place so therefore the light will stay on all the time...
iv got factory rear locker in mine and the "stabi off" is only lit up once the locker is activated.. once disengaged the light goes out.
i drive a suzuki
