I am currently buying a 2010 3l patrol and am looking at putting a chip in it. Was wondering what others were using and what they like/dislike about them, and what they would recomend.
So far i like the look of the 'chip it' brand. I like the idea of having a pyro sensor being built into the equation. I would also probably block the EGR and i will get a 3" exh and dump pipe.
Any other advice or recomendations would be welcomed, as this is my first foray into electronic diesels. Have been a TD42t man for quite a while.
Cheers
Dave

Which power upgrade chip, 2010 Patrol CRD
Re: Which power upgrade chip, 2010 Patrol CRD
The Chip it chip has got some pretty good reviews on Patrol4x4.
The fact that it will adjust fuel depending on EGT is a very good thing.

I will be interested to hear how you go. Are these manufacturers going to honour warranty if nissan don't or the 1 in 3 chance it blows (or whatever the ratio is)??

As far as I know, the EGT "adjustment" on Chipit is nothing more than one of those eBay "Auber" EGT gauges with built in relay control. These were designed for Kilns, to shut off the heater element. Anyone can retrofit one of those on any chip. Its a strictly on/off basis though.
There are other chips where you take an EGT input and drop fuel back on a fine tune basis - now that is cool (hot)
