2006 Pajero

Post by Jimbo »

My g/f parents are looking at buying a Diesel Pajero to tow their 18Ft Jayco.

They are looking at spending around $35k and are interested in this one below purely because its close to their house and they know someone at that dealer.

Can anyone tell me if that front end is at all factory. They told them it was a sports model of some sort. I think it's very ugly!! But does have low km.

Thanks in advance

PS: I personally never buy from dealers as have had a few bad experiences with lies and so on.

Hi, Jimbo,
You never said a truer word, they should be taken outside and strung up, then kicked to death, SLOWLY, LOL.
Just had a look at the link and see its gone, so I take it they bought it and I bet its the 2.8 model too, they are crap, IMHO, because of the heads on these 2.8's, but there you go.

being the VRX "sporty" model i doubt it would be the 2.8

as for ugly, meh, still better than twin winches and HT tyres...

It is most unlikely that it is a 2.8 L engine. The NM series was the last to use this engine. A 2006 may evenbe a common rail 3.2 L engine. Whatever, they are apparently a reliable, if noisy, engine which pulls like a steam train.

the 3.2 did is a great oiler .. durable and plenty of grunt .. and easy to mod for evem more if needed ( can pretty easily get em to well +400nm of torque ) My dad test drove one with his 2.4 tonne boat\trailer on it and loved it.

By 2006 they were definitely into the 3.2 DiD, but I don't think the common rail made it into NP.
