I have a 2009 GU and am considering converting it to coil springs. A couple of questions
1. Can the suspension and all the suspension mounting brakets from a wagon be used or are the Chassis profiles different?
2. Has anyone done this before? Cn you tell me anything in particular I need to look out for?
In case you were wondering, yes I have been talking this one over with an engineer. Hoping to do the work over Easter.
If u have a look in here a mate did it to his. He used a coil diff with custom top mounts and used superior long arm kit and did it all once and did it properly. Jur watch out for the panhard mount that it's laminated as his was but not enough and we ripped the mount off that chassi. Took it back and the fella fuxed it and had no issues since

@ toaddog, Yep I tracked down a coil chassis over the weekend. Front is bent but rear is all good.
@ old lux, Any chance you could show me the link for your mate's build? Had a quick search but didn't find it. Definitely going the long arms. Since I will have the old mounts already cut from the old chassis my plan is to simply weld them back on 300mm further forward and extend the existing arms myself. Hope to save some coin. Any thoughts? Thanks for the heads up on the panhard mount. Did he add any extra bracing? Where did it break? any pics to see how they fixed it?
The fellas name was KOND if I remember correctly. Redid it all custom(upper mounts moved into the centre and the coils where something like 8" coils for 4" lift so they had massive downwards pressure at full droop
