Plumbing a hydro handbrake with its own mini master cylinder to the rear callipers.
How and where do I tie it into the existing brake lines. I just want the handbrake to operate the existing rear callipers. In my head if it just join it to the rear lines, and operate the hand brake the fluid could just push back into the master cylinder and not actually to the rear callipers?
I have the handbrake actuation of the mini master cylinder all working etc, I just can’t figure the plumbing of the lines to ensure it works. Everything online is either electric actuation of a line locker or drift comp second set of callipers.

Re: Hydro Handbrake
I am assuming this is for offroad only? I have in my head that emergency braking systems ("handbrake") must be entirely mechanical and cable operated. Not sure where I read it, but i know I have read it in a vehicle standard somewhere.
Plan B
Fit a secondary calliper assembly to the rear. It wouldn't need to be a huge calliper assembly, just one that has enough to stop/slow the vehicle by the required amount. You can get some cable operated disc assemblies -IIRC some Subaru calipers had this several years ago.

Re: Hydro Handbrake
Just checked I didn’t accidentally post in the overlander forum.
Found what I was looking for, an ‘in-line hydro e-brake’ if you’re playing on google. Simples!
