Axles and splines

Post by flano »

Frank, great info in the data post but have a question.

With respect to the front axles, is the spline count the same at the diff centre and at the hub?

I have 28 splines at the hubs. Could this be extrapolated to be 28 splines at the centre and therefore an 8" front diff?

Sean.

Sean, all the hub ends are 28 splines and the same diameter thats why you can fit the manual hubs onto later models.
The side gears are still 28 spline but a different diameter to the hub splines. Unfortunately you can't tell what size diff you have from this.
I just luv my "clacker Jabber"
