S3 rockhopper into Sierra 1.0 litre T-case
S3 rockhopper into Sierra 1.0 litre T-case
S3 6:1 rockhopper into Sierra 1.0 litre T-case
I'm told by some that I need to have a 1.3 t-case to fit the S3 rockhopper.
Is this true?
Many sites list the S1 to suit both types, with a price difference, but only list 1.3 Sierra case for S3.
If this is so, why?
Do I need certain 1.3 bits not in 1.0 case?
Do other brand 6:1 gear suit only 1.3 cases?
Are other brand 4:1's built stronger/better?
T-case is on its way to God, so now is a good time to give gearing a thought. (I can't trust S1's too many have busted)
Its nearly Summer, tyres can wait, and extractors can stay split for a while
Altho I'd prefer to have one fitted, I will probly have to fit it myself (hopefully they come with fitting instructions)

the series 3 went into mine (1.0ltr with 4wd light) a couple of weeks ago.
I believe that they will fit into a 1.0ltr transfer with the 4wd indicator light but will not go into one without the light.

yes, but some early 1.3 ie narrow track, have hand brakes on t-case also

mine are in a narrow track case with the hand brake. they fit but i had to do a small amount of grinding to the inside of the case so the the S3 gears would turn. probally shaved about a ml of the inside of the case at one spot, where the was a bit of a lump.

thanks mate, its probably a NT thing then, I have heard shaving is needed on 1.0 and some 1.3's, that must be it. christover
