wiring to arb compressor switch

Post by Mr.MojoRising »

how does the wiring go to the back of the arb comp. switch ? i managed to set fire to my loom today, i reckon because the wiring was wrong to the switch. the instructions are piss poor.

i thought it was pretty straightforward for me.

Did you hook up a FUSE to your compressor as most instructions dont specify about fuse installations.

mines a 24v, the wiring diagram appears to be reduced so they could fit in some notes, but they made it so small i cant read the wire colours. There is a fuse in the loom.

don't no about 24V, but the 12V pulls 19 amp while running, and 25 A to kick in (roughly).
I have 30 A fuse, never blown. Make sure you use decent cable (4GA), I know people that use twin&earth from houses thinking its 240V and will handle 12V but they don't calculate the current draw on something like a compressor.
hope this helps
cheers
