Hi Guys, looked in the tech section but couldn't find an answer. Will an RD78 fit a GQ front diff. If not, what are the differences between the RD78 and an RD09?
Cheers

I think this is the difference.
The RD09 has a thrust block and a long pinion shaft thru the middle. The RD78A has a hollow centre.
If you remove the thrust block it will allow more axle penetration. You will still need to ensure (by witness) that the axle ends dont touch long cross shaft. Axle ends can be trimmed on a Brobo etc by 6mm or so.
No resp taken, just the way I see it from the pictures in an ARB diff book.

I called ARB today to find out. They said all that is required to make the RD78A fit a GQ was a steel rod 32.5mm dia by 31mm long. They suggest making them out of harden steel. As for the other way around, they don't recommend it.
cheers,
