Difference between Disco 200 TDI and RRC 89 axles?

Post by SeriousIIa »

Is there a strength difference between Disco 200 TDI and RRC 89 axles? When was the 24 spline introduced on the disco?

Cheers Bowy who has a RRC but can get a rolling chassis of a disco cheap. and needs stronger axles because of his 33's and future 35's

I think that the 24 spline rears were introduced towards the end of the 200Tdi's. Can't you just pull a rear axle and check?

AFAIK, Discos have cheaper diff components than Rangies, the Disco spider gears are compressed powder gears while Rangie ones are cut gears. The part numbers are different .
I think the axles are the same.
