steering

Post by lux kid »

i have a 4 inch lift with up rated panhard rods. my problem is my truck turns left more than right. i looked at rotating the pit man arm on the steering box. that wount work cause it locators on the spline it will only go on one way. the steering stops are not the problem.

Can any one tell me what lenght the pan hard rod should be?

do companys have different lenght steering arms?

More then likely it is that the steering dampner has been mounted incorrectly..............as in it is stretched open to fair to start with. Does the steering dampner mount from the panhard rod then go up towards the steering box on drivers side of the car and it doesn't want to turn to the right very much but turns left ok.

If so loosen the bolts on the top steering dampner mount, close the dampner up a bit and that should fix it. ;)

a 4" lift will rotate the steering wheel around 1/4 turn. It moves the mounting points of the steering arm (front of the diff) and 'stretches the arm'. If you cant put up with it, get an adjustable steeering arm and re-align the steering wheel.
