Smoke From Rear Wheel!!
Hi All
After driving approx 8km's this am, I got out of the Mav' and noticed smoke wofting from the left rear wheel.( )
Thinking, this is not good..........I haven't even taken the wheel off yet (tomorrow job due to not getting home until 7:45pm) what could it be?
I'm thinking wheel bearing... but couldn't hear any squealing from the wheel, but the p/s window was up, d/s window down and I don't hear much over the engine and half worn MT/R's.
Haven't had any prob's with rear brakes, but with smoke, I'm thinking wheel bearing.
What does everyone think, what else should I look for, what else could it be?
As usual, all help greatly appreciated.
Regards

Ahhhh....that's something I didn't think of!! I've got a habit of thinking worst case scenario, but then again, replacing disc pads and a caliper I'm thinking won't be cheap hey?!J Top wrote:Handbrake is on the driveshaft.
Seized or semi-seized rear caliper, either the piston or the sliders.

I assume to check, check wear on pads??
