winches
i have just taken the winch apart that was with the car when new, was just wondering if it is alright to usemarine bearing grease, as it would provide good protection when it gets wet in there. the wimch was full of crap and the grease had dried out
Just go out to a rigging place and buy a proper rated, positive locking hook. The sort that the more tension on it, the harder it is to open is what you want. There are models with and without swivels built in. Most people seem to be using the one without swivel because otherwise the cable can unravel under tension I hear.
