Most people i know who run Lockers use LSD oils in the diffs
The thicker oil will just make the diffs harder to turn when colder that should be the only disadvantage. dunno if it will wear them down quicker or not
140 will use more fuel than a 90 and may not protect it any better than another brand of 90 would have.
If you do decide to go 140 consider this one Castrol SAF-XA 75w-140. This is about as good as they come, you could thrash it for 60k and probably still be protected but thats not advisable, also the 75w denotes easy cold start lubrication.
The price will scare you, it did me at $25 per L, now if they only made it in a 75w-90 as well, I like my economy.
I use a lubrimaxx ls 90 in the rear. It works fine...still limos up well. i have heard that the 140 is a bit heavy for a sydney climate unless you drive a truck
I would love to change the oil in the rear of my GQ but the fill plug is way way waaaaayyyyyyyyyy!! too tight I have tried breaker bars rattle guns heaps of Rost off looks like I will have to fill via breather plug. How many liters in the rear of a GQ SWB 4.11 LSD?
