80 electric lockers and diifs

Post by Red Rover »

After looking at ih8mud forum in the states I see that a lot of the 80's over there run the factory lockers. However I the only real complaint I see is cv's breaking but not a lot about busted diffs which i find a bit strange.

Is there any difference in strength between std open diffs (particulary in front) and the factory diffs with the electric lockers?

Thanks in advance

Ive got a Factory TD 80 with factory lockers. I never had a problem with them and have run up to 38" tyres. I dave pulled the lookers out to refresh the bearings and they are very robustly built and have bigger bearing carrier than the std cruiser diff. The only thing i dont like is there a bit slow to activate.
