Anyone............

Post by Shorty40 »

...........know a good Old Skool engine tuner in the Sydney area :?: (preferably south side)

The engine is a 253 Holden V8.

I'm sick of taking my car to people who will "have a crack at it" for me, only to have it return no better than when I dropped it off :x :x :x

Not too fussed on $$$ as I am at the stage where I just want to get the job done right  ;)

Thanks

Rochester (brand new from Hume Performance) and an Edelbrock performer intake manifold. Also have electronic dizzy. Standard holden exhaust manifold and a 2 1/2" (I think) exhaust (fairly old).

kind of

Dizzy is sorted - locator on the rotor was snapped and timing was way out

Carb is better - choke was on and some other adjustments were made

It is better than it was but still not where I want it to be :?

I'll give this guy a buzz. Thanks :)

I'll be happy with someone who can tune it properly and tell me if it needs anything else done (I have been advised it could be the cam) - basically someone who really knows what they are talking about when to comes to older engines

I don't want to pay anyone else to tell me it's good when I know its not :x

Got one laying around ?

That would be the ideal solution: 5lt, TH700. If I could get it done cheap enough and sell the current setup I would definately do it.

Out of curiosity, what would that cost ?

try DIFF TRANS at greenacre, these guys have been working on these motors for years in performance cars and boats so they really know the motor well.
