castor correction on a hilux

Post by whiteknight »

did a search but couldn't find a simple answer..

I got a wheel alignment after the Highsteer install and they said I need wedges under the front spring pack.

How do I tell what degree wedges I need?
Should the flat base of the steering arms be parellel to the ground?
What will it improve if I rectify this?

confused :?

The alignment shop should be able to tell you how much you need, if not, i would find another alignment shop that can.

How wild have you gone with the spring perches and shackles? I had standard perch with a 2" longer shackle and 4 deg is what i had fitted and it came back into spec.

OK, was reading the post about the 80 series caster and got me thinking that mine is probably a bit out..

So what is the standard caster on a solid axle 96 Hilux? I'm not sure how to read these properly but it appears mine is currently at over 5degrees? so what caster wedges should I be looking at getting?
