I believe all new bars need to be styled like this with inset fairlead, rubber bumpers etc.

They're both ARB bars...Mad Cruiser wrote:If it was true.... ARB would be out of business !
That bit your winch cable is hooked to? That's something they're cracking down on - it would be classified as a "sharp protrusion."mooman wrote:if you cut the top off (the "eye brow" bits) then the bull bar becomes a "bumper" bar.
this is what i've done, so bring on the banning of bull bars, shouldn't have any effect on what i've got
a pic to show you what i'm trying to say.

funny you should say that.NJ SWB wrote:mooman & RoeDao
Why?
You've now got heavy bumper bars (OK - winch bars) which are only marginally more "pedestrian friendly" than a full bull bar. Strike a roo at highway speeds and you've got no protection for your radiator. This doesn't bother you?
Just curious.

My father would argue with that. He didn't see the roo until he hit it. Pushed his smartbar back onto his bonnet, and it sprung back again. He finished his trip, the roo didn't.Bundy_Harry wrote:With or without doesn't matter,NJ SWB wrote:mooman & RoeDao

because my bullbar looked like crap. It had been involved in some kind of accident and had been cut and re-welded, was a crap job too, plus it was rubbing on the guards and pushing the flares off..... it's aluminium so it's light enough to hang off the little guy with no discomfort heheNJ SWB wrote:mooman & RoeDao

The post at the end - " I agree! by Pauldo " is so typical,
"The good cure for whenever they lumber behind you is to just sit back on the cruise control and just speed up when they try to overtake."
..and the numskull wonders why he is a target of road rage
