Moving Rear Leaf

Hello i own a 92 feroza and have a couple of questions
1-has anybody moved the rear leaf springs above the axle housing and if so how hard was it

2-do you have to buy special shocks to comply with the three stage damper or don't bother reconnecting it,any help would be appreciated

Hi, moving the springs to on top of the axle has been done and results in way too much lift. The front end can't be easily adjusted to match. It's also illegal in most (all?) states- if that concerns you.

Ditch the three way shocks and buy some decent aftermarket ones. You'll have to unbolt the adjustment motors off the top of each shock to remove the old ones- a PITA to do.

Thanks i will ditch the three way,i thought it would raise it a fair bit,bigger tires are coming so that should help any recomendations for some new shocks and roughly how much

Why not a body lift?

For this 4x4 a SPOA (spring over axle) is too much lift i think.

Wich kind of tyres will you put?

not illegal in nsw

a low spring over only nets around 4 inch lift

chuck out the ifs and put a solid axle in there :D

she will be getting a two inch lift when i do my springs and i will be putting 30 or 31 inch tires on her,depends how much power the 31's suck out of her it's currently running 28's still goes further than my mates rover though!

If you're going for a lift then off the shelf shocks won't be much good. You'll have to experiment and try to find something that's longer. Commodore wagon rear shocks will fit F300's (rear) and give a decent improvement in extended length with virtually the same compressed length. The good thing about that is you can get adjustable Koni's etc to fit Commodores. ;)

Yeah i will have to go to my local 4x4 shop and see whats about commondore springs should be cheaper though so i will look into that thanks,

Commodore shocks will fit - not the springs! ;)

That only applies to F300 narrow tracks too- not the F310 wide track.

Yeah i have already organized my leaf springs,mine is a narrow track can't wait to get some shocks she is rough a guts on a gravel road with some corrigation-are you from australia david
