Jimny Stockman tray back.

Post by christover1 »

A mate in Adelaide sent me these pix.
Is this the cut and modded Jimny I have heard about, or is there a new factory option, or an after market company.

I like it, I think I know what my next dream car is :D

Thats awesome, looks real neat. I think thats a really good nip and tuck job, never heard or seen it as factory option before. Sweet

Itis not the first one I've heard of. A company in queensland dose the
conversion. Won't be cheap thoe. I would bet around five thousand. Is
it worth it. On the jimnyworld website there use to be pics too.

I more likely to take a grinder to an old one, and add me own tray/tub ....be a much rougher job, but wouldn't be a show pony, so wouldn't matter a lot.

I am just planning for when the older Sierras are too rare/dear/hard to run.

Yeah, I can understand that.
But I think carbied cars with no ecu's are going to fade away.
Good or bad, we will need to learn how to mod newer tech stuff, because already parts at my zook wrecker are running out for Sierras. His shed has more Jimny's than Sierras now.
But I could start amassing parts before its too late :D

5 grands?? don't think so. for a cruiser 60 series, would cost about 11 grands all up. so i'd say it'd be about that much

That pic is from out the front of suzuki in the city service centre!

At the adelaide 4wd show a couple of years ago they had two of them, brand new blue and silver ones. To me they looked like factory, i asked the guy at the suzuki stall and he said they were going to make them like it! from memory they were $22,000.

Unfortunately would have to agree Chris and at least there will be no cutting out on big angles! I think i might be able to come around a bit if they release a LWB version or improve the soft top version they have now coz it is ugly. Soft top sierras were by far more popular than the hard tops so what were they thinking with the soft top jimny?? of course thats just my opinion though...so long as they dont go ifs on the jimnys

I reckon it looks like they forgot to bolt on the 2nd axle.
There is enough room there to make it into a 6wd.
Now that would be cool

the white one looks like its stock wheelbase.

looks cool but would b better if it was a little longer wheelbase (6-12 inches) with a lift and bigger tyres.

The white one does not look like a "modified" full body .. you can see a seam at the back of the cabin

that white one looks bloody exellent. would not need to move the rear axle too far just bring it to the centre of the tray add a couple of ''s 31''s and presto- my dreams come true, remot;y comfortable zuky ute that the mrs will actually get in :)
