hey there ferozians, ferozites, ferozlings... hmmmm....???
i'm on the hunt for a mighty feroza, or should i be? care to talk me out of it? i've been advised i might be better off aiming for a suzuki, for various reasons...although it'll take a pretty strong case to turn me away from the feroza!
i'm a bit of a newbie to the feroza, so i'm basically after any advice/info on any common faults or flaws to look out for when buying one. is there a prefered series to shoot for or stay away from? etc, etc...any advice would be most welcome.

If you want offroad performance, get something with 2 live axles (shutup hot4 )... if you want a DD thats decent offroad, get a roza. IMO a IFS roza will cane a live sierra in stock form just cause a sierra is too light and small, in some cases. But live axled rocky will kick both... sorry ferozites

It all depends on what you want to do with it ferguson.
If you think you will be pretty hardcore later on, or want to mod it a HEAP... get a sierra for sure.
The parts available for the Daihatsu 4x4s let them down to some extent.
If you want a car that you can drive all week, then go on the beach or do some pretty tough stuff on the weekend, buy a Feroza no worrys, or even a Rocky.
The Rocky's have a bit more room, and a bit more power.
Especially them turbo intercooled ones (you wouldnt know bout it Nath
I bought the latest model Rocky last year and I wouldn't swap it for anything... Im really really happy with it.
Have a quick look through the Bible in the main Daihatsu section... It has buying advice and some common faults with the Rozas.
Good luck!
i'd be rushing out and buying an IFS rocky
I dunno about the sierra advice. Sure, you can get lockers/reduction gears for em (me verry jealous )... but i think they are just too light, i've seen sprung over ones on big-ish rubber, and they have no downward travel. They'd just bounce everywhere popping a wheel. Plus they dont come in diesel A sprung and welded rocky would go much further IMO... but this is only based on my observations and the things my friend (who used to have a zuke) has told me. Still a good little 4x4 though

hey guys,
thanks for the input. yeah, i was kinda thinking along the lines of driving it most of the week and then smashing it up a bit on the weekends/week away...
is there anything specific to watch out for when checking out a feroza, or just most of the regular stuff when looking at any 4x4?
