timing belt problem.....

Post by 636 »

iam undergoing an engine change in my suzi when i have time to do so, am changing from a g13b to a g13a only cos mine crapped itself and the other one was only $100, but since i had the motor already out i thought id change the timing belt on the g13a

on going to repco and getting a timing belt for the g13a it seems to be too long, still way too loose even using the adjusting pulley as far as it would go, so i went back down to repco and made sure i got the right belt, so does anyone have any ideas what i should do now?? im a little lost as what to do..

there is more than 1 size, but the difference ain't big.

maybe the cam and crank pulleys have been altered?

maybe the adjuster/tensioner is faulty or fitted wrong
