Installing a Pyro on 2LT? how?
G'day, have done a search without any luck,
How have people installed a Pyro on the factory turbo setup? is there a simple place to bolt one into the manifold or do i need to have something fabbed up to bolt into?
Reading previous posts preturbo seems to be the optimum place, but that is heavily debated so before or after is fine just how have people done it?
Mine is the factory surf setup but is bolted to a 2.8 hilux motor not that that should make much difference.
looking at doing some tuning and sounds like a pyro is the first step.
Do i just order a pyro through repco or is there a specific fitting/type that is required, they are pricey buggers so I want to make sure i get the right one.

If there isnt a spot already allocated to take a pyro...maybe drilling and tapping a thread maybe an option (just a thought - please tell me if I am wrong). Most aftermarket gauges come with there own fittings though, so you would have to get the right thread die.

When putting your Pyro in pre-turbo, make sure you remove all the swarf or say bye-bye turbohislux94 wrote:i just made up a piece of round bar with a thread the same as the one on the probe and just drilled a whole in the dump pipe as close to the turbo as i could and just welded the fitting in, then screwed the probe into the dump pipe.

Seeing what the engine is doing. I think the temperature can help show whether the engine is over or under fuelling. Or working too hard ie: going up a hill hauling a trailer.
