hey there.
i'm looking at paying a pajero in the near future and was wondering what was better. i definately want a live rear axle and a the 3.5ltr auto box. so which is better value, the NL or NK? i understand that the DOHC 3.5ltr was dropped from the line-up, is it a much better engine than the SOHC?
your comments would be appreciated.
thank you

NL vs. NK

ok thanks for your input mate. not a fan of diesel engines. prefer petrol anyday lol-Scott- wrote:The DOHC has more power, but the SOHC torque curve is stronger at low revs - so it's better suited to cruising/towing/4wding.
Personally, I think I'd choose the 2.8 diesel.

NK was aparently gas compatible, but not the NJ.
The torque curve of the SOHC must be more consistant so to speak - cas on paper it isnt there... dohc 300nm @ 3000rpm, sohc 304nm?? @ 3500.
The economy difference between the two though is huge... and a set of lifters for a nj / nk is over 2500buks... which are generally starting to show their age at 200,000....
Do yourself a faviour, go the NL...
