Bolt On Sliders ?

Post by CWBYUP »

Thinking about a set of bolt on sliders but not sure if they will strong enough. Its only a SWB Sierra so theres not that much weight there.

Has anyone else done this ? Has anyone got photos of how they attached them ?

Don't want to weld to chassis as a may change my mind on how there set up when I eventually build an EXO for it.

Info would be appreciated.

I had a set of bolt on sliders on my rocky (heavier by far than my seirra) and they held up fine to plenty of car landing on sliders on rocks type of abuse.

Layto....

The outer 2 mounts sit flat against the bodymount bracket off the chassi and are drilled and bolted through that.
The centre mount slides up around the chassi with 2 bolts on the top above the chassi rail.

Just a point on the strength of bolt on sliders, the square RHS on mine runs directly under the sill for the full length so if the mounts flex it up the load is spread evenly along the whole sill preventing damage.

Thanks for the compliments guys.
have a look at my members thread on the zook for more.

I made mine just with square tube with a 45 on the end and welden 2 bits to bolt onto the the 2 parts that come out from the chassis with the body mounts on them!

Was very easy to make and cost about $30.

Then painted them with chassis black.

Will try and post pics on the week end!
Built swb sierra, building a lwb sierra ute and have a dmax for family camping
