Post by C.A.Moseley »

I'm half way threw a cut down on my rangie. I'm going for an open pick-up. Need help with a few engineering questions, can i mount rear seat belts on the rear diagonals, can i rivet the roof to the main hoop? Thanks

seat belts are a definate ask an engineer!!! I was allowed to rivet my roof down as long as they were proper structural rivets, not your run of the mill sheetmetal rivets.

Not sure what you mean about the roof, when i shortened mine i just used a strip of excess ally and put it under the join then riveted both sides into one of the steel ribs. It is still held on with the original self tappers.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.
