Detroit lockers / model# ?

Post by udm »

I have just got a quote for Detroit lockers for the 80.

Front / 187sl61b $780
Rear / 225sl124a $890

With these part# given, can someone actually tell me what detroits they are? Are they any good?
The seller says they are softlockers but it didnt sound convincing.

Also, where can I find a catalogue with parts# ?

Cheers

Pretty sure the SL in the part no means softlocker. I'd stick a detroit in the back and save a little more for an airlocker for the front - as good as the softlockers are over some other auto's, your steering will still get stuffed around plenty.

i've got a detroit in the rear of my 80, with a airlocker in front. great combo. would have liked to do front and rear detroits, saved on air cmpressor but would have needed to put in part time kit.

hope this helps:
