Considering a heavy duty clutch for the Cruiser after a 10 week sojourn with the 22' off road capable 2.5T Coromal van.
Had a couple of occasions exiting servo's where driveway is on an up hill slope & the clutch slipped so had to drop down to low range. Needless to say it didn't like turning & climbing with the difflock engaged (automatically in L/R). Similarly on hill starts when traffic congestion causes a stop - had to engage L/R to get moving then slip it into H/R on the fly... not really a problem so far but a steeper hill might cause a considerable climb in L/R if I can't get up enough momentum to slip it into H/R.
Any thoughts on the above procedures or which if any H/D clutch to look at & approx costs?

For an off the shelf option there is the Daikin Safari clutch , but they are somewhat pricey. The other option is to run the truck down to St Marys brake and clutch on Glossop St St Marys and run thru the weights you tow , how often you do it ect and get them to build a custom HD clutch in house. May turn out cheaper or dearer but at least then it is done to exactly what you want it for.
I have an 80 series and i am aslo about to buy a new clutch,
i would recomend direct clutch in albion brisbane, $540 heavy duty clutch they get standard clutch and modify it to be heavy duty, pretty sure they will ship to you

i got a daikin heavy duty clutch for my middy last year. got was only $500 but had to (and would recommend) get flywheel machined for warranty. local shop (ABS) did this for $100. price for clutch/machining pretty reasonable i reckon.
i later talk to a guy i know who happens to be workshop foreman for a arb place. apparently you can get daikin to make up a clutch to your specs. heavy duty, real light feel blah blah whatever you want
