Re: curious on opinions about fj owners who went chev

The main reason (in my opinion) for swapping in a later model 5 speed, is the 2 piece transfer on the back of it, the old one piece was/is not up to the stock engine, let alone a v8, the newer 2 piece most certainly is, I am unsure what transfer case is in your 45, but the extra strength is worth ...

Be carfull of pumping "moist" air into your dizzy, your engine will have "brain damage" before you leave the car park, not to mention watch the pressure,

Re: Home made Air Up system?

The difference is the AirUp system uses Co2 that is stored in the cylinder as a liquid, the pressure comes from the Co2 vapour (I think it is a vapour) so the stored pressure's and the total usable volume of the two tanks (Co2 and compressed air) are vastly different while looking identical on the ...

If you are after a cheap option, just put in another rivet, that will keep the weather out and if your car is close to a colorbond color you can even be color coded

Re: Low pressure air waterproofing

Howdy All. As I'm routing a pnumatic line up front for my remote freespool and having a dizzy that 'absorbs' water very easily, i thought about tapping a airline into it and using a regulator off a compressor to reduce the pressure. The air excaping should prevent the water entering, yes? And while ...

It is a new type of locker Joe (keep up!) the right axle is 300mm longer than stock and goes all the way through the center engaging both side gears, then the left axle is 300mm shorter and it is joined to the the other with an internally splined sleeve providing positive locking of both axles, air ...

Firstly welcome to the joys of a modded zook  For your shocks, you need to cycle the suspension (full up and full down) and measure the max and min shock length then go shopping. I will beat Steve in saying that you don't need a spring over to run 31's, that said, you definitely don't need ...

While this is very similar to which is the best tyre/winch/mobile phone topic and everyone will have the best there is, there are a few points to consider, 1, the main killer of Li batteries is heat, make sure your charger is fan cooled and your batts will last a lot longer. 2. once you have one ...

Re: 3/4 Elliptical and speed.

A correctly positioned electromagnet would be quite straight forward and very convenient to use, one wire, no moving parts to rust and seize up, no getting under the car in the slop. google electromagnetic door holders and have a look around, they come in 12v and 24v with holding forces up to 24KG I ...

Re: Leaf Spring shorter shackle question

Did you lower your bump stops when you lowered the axle?
It's very important to set them up right if you want to maximise flex, it's all about leverage.
Also have you checked the stroke of your shocks? they could be maxing out their travel.
