Re: FZJ105R fuel economy help / maybe a conversion

Got it fitted in Sydney, Auto Tech at Granville. $1300 including before and after Dyno. Single map.
If you are expecting a race car then don't but for a far smoother drive good torque through the range. Holds the gears longer under load and a couple of litres per 100 better fuel economy.
I don't ...

Re: FZJ105R fuel economy help / maybe a conversion

I've got an 02 105 and have found that if I put the boot down so goes my economy.
Have found that on the highway if I keep it around 2200rpm (about 98km) then I will get 20/100.
Have fitted a UniChip the otherday and although early days yet, it is a far better truck to drive and looks like I should ...

If the oil gets into the alternator it will destroy it as well so don't wait too long with the repairs.

I have put a PACEMAKER tuned header and 21/2 system on mine and am very happy, Better economy, more low down torque. All good, select a good resonator and muffler as well as it can be a bit noisy without it. My 2002 model came factory without a CAT so added advantage with not having the expense ...

Well finally made up my mind. Fitted a Pacemaker Tri-Y set of Headers and 21/2 inch pipes, no Cat as there was not one fitted at factory. Straight through muffler. Now has a good note and a noticeably better amount of low down torque. Will now see how the fuel economy goes. Got it at a good price as ...

Yes Twisty, that is because with mandrel you thin out the wall thickness on the bends and hence the very short life span.

Hey Joel, any more info on the Chip issue you mentioned in your post? Interested in this as well.
Have been warned about the straight through effect earlier. will now probably ...

Mandrel Bent or Not

Folks

Have an 02 100 series 4.5 petrol and am looking at sticking a set of tuned headers and straight through exhaust to give me a little better fuel economy as well as a minor increase in performance.

What are peoples opinion as to going a mandrel bent system against a standard 2 1/2 inch bend ...

Fuel Consumption on 100 Series petrol

Just picked up an 02 100 series RV, 4.5 petrol. FZJ105R.

Must be the thirstiest truck I have ever driven. Have not worked out the actual usage yet but over 3/4 of a tank from Canberra to Sydney is a bit rich, 95l main.

Anybody any comments or ideas as to how to possibly get it sorted. Like a good ...

Is this what you want, the site is Russian but the manual is in Engilsh. Take your time and you will be able to work it out. I have down loaded it and it is not bad, I use it in conjunction with a Gregory's and do OK. Good Luck.

As with any powder extinguisher, they need to be taken out and turned up side down every couple of months and given a good shake up. If left the powder will pack in the bottom of the bottle and all you will get is the propllent when you really want all the contents. Every time you service your rig ...

Interestingly enough Nissan even checked their records via VIN No: etc and could only confirm the H233B type.

I tend to agree with Pongo. The primary filter in the banjo (where the fuel line connects to the lift pump) is a good place to look first.
That is where I find all my blockages, caused by crap from the tank.

Knew it would have had to be that simple.
I assume that these 2 diffs come standard as LS?
If the answer is yes then I think mine has a problem. Am I correct in saying that if you jack one wheel off the ground then you should NOT be able to turn that wheel?
Thanks

Which Diff, how to tell the difference

Hi folks
85 MK SWB, C200 in the front. By physically looking at the diff in the car, how do you know which rear diff you have, H260 or H233B.
Is there a physical external difference as to which is which just by the appearance, advise please.

Manifold Gaskets on 85 MK SD33T

Hi Folks
Have a leaking exhaust manifold gasket on No5 pot and will be sorting it this weekend.

Any problems I need to look out for. Seems pretty straight forward but will probably take some time. I intend to also change the inlet as well while its off.

Any hints would be much appreciated.

For the complete kit. ie all bushes F/R all shackles and all pins (greasable) I think it was around $240.00. Carrols Springs I found to be the cheapest.
made a hell of a difference too.
