I got my 60 a few years ago, and from the measurments, i guestimated it had a 3" sus lift that has saged to about 2.5", and I had to put a 2" body lift to stop it scrubbing around normal corners on the road when running 35" pedes, and even now I still scrub on more serious artic situations offroad ...

I have no idea what it is, but I know its not doing the job, I just want to know what rig to rip one off that will bolt straight in, or like I said, whats involved in putting in a second alternator.

Wow, all that looks like a lot of work, what about adding a second alternator, either wiring it straight up to the second battery or into the main battery? Any auto elects out there that can shed some light on this idea?

Hey guys, im just wonding if my ol HJ60 would have any clutch adjustment, or is the fact that the clutch is engaging close to the top of the pedle a sign that its almost due for replacment?

nope mine is not Vac operated, I am pretty sure ive fixed mine, there is 2 levers on the transfer stick, one engages 4wd, the other switches from high to low, seems the one that engages 4wd pulls OUT of the gearbox and it was not pulling out enough, although it did it once before the body lift, it ...

Although in poor body condition (no real rust, but 2 largish dents and lots of bog) I paid $6k for my 60 about 12 months ago, which came with roady, long range fuel tank, onboard water tanks, 3" sus lift, snorkle, BFG 33's and to top it all off, arb front & rear lockers. :lol: Cheers Azz

Yup I assumed it was the same as a driveshaft, as the diameters going into each end of the boot are different, and its greasable just like the driveshafts, and I assume its there for some kind of flex, so just depends on how much length is in there, but on every body lift info I found on a 60 series ...

Someone must have some advice, I read somewhere that I had to pull the diff cover off and remove a nut or pin or something in the diff center to get the axle out, is this correct? It doesnt mention anything like that in the service manual. I am going to replace the axle seals as well as the wheel ...

Nope I would say its .5cm lol I have a service manual, and my step dad has done plenty of cars, trucks, tractors etc in his day but never done a 4wd before, so with his help and the service manual we should be right.

Any advice that may help the job along would be great.
