As most have said, you can do it, but it's a fair amount of work for what could be little gain. I watched a mate build his own manifold for his GQ turbo set up. He didn't go as far as tuned lengths because there is almost no space under a GQ bonnet. Granted it took him about 3 weeks of arvos and ...

I've got a Twin Tongue compressor and a 6L tank. The tank is a converted fire ext (5kg), it's just a shade narrower than the chassis rail of our Cruiser. Plenty of space down the sides of the rails.

2" lift and 285's should help out. 305's are the same diameter just a bit wider which may help out on sand.
AT's or even HT's are better for sand than mud tyres. The flatter the tread pattern the better they'll float on the sand.
If you want to stop the spare from hitting get yourself a splittie ...

I put slotted rotors on my old 80. They did work better, and with 33"s on it needed a bit of extra help.
Cross-drilled are not recommended for off road as they will fill up with mud.

The 100 series landcruiser doesn't have dual batteries in the usual sense, They are a pair of batteries, linked together permanently to effectively give one bigger battery.
My 105 only had 1 battery. Did the factory turbos come with paired batteries or what?
I'm pretty sure the 200 series ...

I think you'll find the gauge is trying to go into negative (vacuum) territory. Our Cruiser used to do the same thing.
After improving the air intake piping it stopped doing it. If you've got any way of getting the motor to breathe better, K&N, bigger pipes etc, try that.... or a fully sik boost ...

Thanks for the info Daniel.
A little history. This locker was in the front of my part time 80 1HZ N/A. It got a bit of use but not lots.
I sold my old car to a mate after it sat around for a year or so. I plan on fitting this centre to our 105. It has an aftermarket turbo and intercooler on it ...

Most lifting gear shop should have decent chain. Herc Alloy lifting chain is bloody hard to get through with bolt cutters. Anything thicker than about 10mm. Comes in nice yellow paint just to make it stand out.
I knock up this to discourage light fingered people.

It was setup by a trusted 4wd mechanic. Looking closely it's more of a design fault. The bolt backing ring is very thin where the bolts go through and has no definite locking position. It's able to move around hence putting it off centre.
I'm looking at machining up a new bolting ring or swapping ...

Not sure if anybody out there will have dismantled an air locker.... I've finally got the front locker out of my old 80 so I can fit it into our 105.

One of his mates had a 5L in a dual Lux but it was thirsty and spent most of it's time on Stokton cooling down.

Pre '96 Cruisers are 2.5t
Post '96 are 3.5t
I think they are the same chassis etc but they got recertified for the higher rating. I bought a Hayman Reese for my '91 model 80 and it came with 2 stickers for the different ratings.
If you have a surf on Redbook it lists the specs for different cars.

However, I've just this morning cobbled together a few parts to check the pressures. I'm amazed.

Alternator.
Seen it a few times. Brushes get stuck and don't make contact. Sometimes you can dismantle the back of the alternator and loosen the brushes up and away it goes.

I've used a 4.5kg fire ext. Works out to about 5-6L capacity. I'm pretty sure the guage that was on it read up to 150psi or so. Different sorts of extinguishers might have different ratings.

The Twin Tongue is the big brother of the Blue Tongue. You can get them from Opposite Lock shops.
The Blue Tongue puts out 45l/min and the Twin pumps 84l/min. The Twin does however pull 32 amps flat out, so a decent circuit is needed to run it.
I paid about $700 about 6 years ago. I think the Blue ...

We've got a Twin Tongue under the bonnet. Built to last and run continuously. Is switched at 100psi hooked up to a 4.5kg Fire extinguisher as tank. Inlet is plumbed from the air cleaner. Also has a small set of Truck Horns tucked under the bullbar.... beep beep it is not.

I made my own and bolted it through my barn doors.... the hinges really aren't up to it. Have a look at the door hinges on a Patrol... they are huge compared to the Toyota ones.

Firstly, I can answer part of my own question, in that this only happens when we have rain. So I know something is getting wet and making the circuitry crazy.
We don't even have to get alot of rain, just a mm or two will do it. First off, the air horns go off of their own accord and don't stop ...
