You have 2 options and it depends if you want a 'meant to be there' look or dont mind the look of the after market tacho. 1. Get an instrument cluster out of a GXL and put that in. This will only work, however, if your injector pump has the tacho sender on it. The standard models didn't out of the ...

http://www.lovells.com.au/products.php?p=shocks - halfway down the page it talks about the Gas Legend Twin Tube shock. These are the ones I have on the 80 series.

Check out the exhaust - I have a custom system in mine following the path the factory one takes so it's a tight fit. I had 2 broken rubber mounts so the whole lot was floating on one, and it was the same as you describe - short sharp bumps has a metal on metal clunk. Took me a long time to find out ...

Righto, did some tests this afternoon - Voltage at each plug, with the bar on, was approx 11.2V. I took the rail off and measured resistance. I think I had the multimeter set at 20K ohms (may have been too high), and it showed as being 2 ohms, on each plug. What's the tolerance on these things - ie ...

Smoke was definitely white. Usually if I start it as soon as the light goes out I have to crank it a bit before it starts (not long). If I leave it a little after the light goes out then it starts more easily. In my vehicle if I turn on the ignition, I hear the glow relay click in. It will click out ...

1HZ + cold mornings = hard to start
We've had a couple of cold days up here (Toowoomba, Qld) over the last week or so. This morning was one of them. The car ('97 80 series) was hard to start this morning. Normally I let it run until the glow indicator goes out, leave it for about another 10 seconds with the key in the 'ON' position ...

Thanks for all the input guys. Ended up going with the roo lites, simply for budgetary reasons (the treasurer was more happy about the roo lights). When having a demo in shop I honestly couldn't tell the difference between the two. Got them installed today and had a quick burl of them tonight and ...

To be honest, we don't do that much night driving so I'm not sure if I can justify the huge price difference of the LF when they'll get used for maybe 30 minutes a week. Something a bit middle of the road would be good, because there are occassions when we do long haul night driving, but typically ...

Nite Stalker Roo Lite
Anybody got these installed and care to share what you think of them? I'm trying to decent between a pair of these and a pair of LightForce 170's - the Roo Lite's seem like a good choice because of the reduced cost. I can afford to get the LightForces but it will be tight and if I can get near equal ...

Doesn't quite work that way on mine - the drain holes are on the frame that the motor bolts in to, which needs to be oriented correctly to be able to mount the winch in the bullbar. If the drain holes were in the motor this would work, but they aren't so I'm pretty limited. I'll take a closer look ...

Great idea Smithie, something I would never have thought of on my own! Currently I don't have a source of compressed air (not permanently installed), but I will in the near future. When I've got a compressor installed then I might just do something like that. Mind you, I'm hoping I'll never need the ...

Thanks. Yes, I've had it open and seen the drain holes - I don't remember if they were orientated correctly (ie. facing downwards) on my car or not (been a while since I pulled it off, and haven't got the motor assembly with me as it's being repaired). I'll keep that in mind when putting it all back ...

Preventing water in winch
I have a Warn XD9000 which has been water damaged by a previous owner. In looking at the winch, it doesn't seem that there's any seals or the like to prevent water from entering. I can see what appear to be drain holes in the motor casing, however the way my winch is mounted they appear to be ...

80 series side steps
Probably an obvious question, but I just want to make sure... will steps from an 80 series GXL fit onto an 80 series Std?
