4.8 gu gearbox

after blowing 5th gear in the gu tonight,i need to no will a 4.8 gu box,bolt up with no dramas,to my td 42, the 4.8 seems to have the best ratios and no 5th gear issues,is this a straight swap? thanks bill

Im wanting to fit a after market temp gauge in my td 42 t,but cant decide on the best location for the sender unit?,whats your thoughts on gauges,mechanical or electric?does it have to go in the thermostat housing or is there a bung in the block,that can be used cheers

mine is oil in ....screw out bung under sender unit on oil pump oil drain...i welded a half inch socket bsp into sump....water in and out are t pieces in top of thermostat housing for turbo and heater hoses cheers Bill

we had a great event,got in at 9.30 sunday,with both cars in one piece,done all the questions,missed 2 secret ones,a bent steering arm,and no brake pads,left on the back of the shorty,apart from that,a very good weekend.....Bill drafty those green beadlocks you were running ,who makes them?

what oil pressure do you run on a engine that is at running temp, on idle,mineis dropping to about 10 on the factory guage,i have heard that the factory guage isnt that accurate is this true? thanks Bill

love mud...my zook runs a 4AGE 100kw and 3 speed auto 32'' 10.5 mongrels ,i live near the otways so mainly wheeling in the mud,got 2 spare diffs,so not that worried if it shiats the centre,main concern is the axles (no spares) . Cam is your zook still running the 1.3 ?and what size are your tires ...
