OIL AND WATER LINES FOR TD42 WITH TURBO - HELP

Post by Daisy »

Ok.. let me explain what ive done.

TD42 fully rebuilt.

Sourced a GU 4.2 turbo kit and in the middle of bolting it all together.

All seems to bolt up okay EXCEPT 4 things.

OIL in
OIL drain
WATER in
WATER drain.

One of the 2 water connections goes into the thermostat housing which is no drama at all.

The remaining 3 - have positions to go INTO THE BLOCK - which I DO NOT WANT TO DRILL as its been rebuilt and any shavings or etc will go into crankshaft which is no good

It has been suggested by a mate of mine to drill and tap into the sump for the oil drainage from turbo (easy as)

And for the oil feed - run it off the oil sender with a T connection (oil pressure on guage will drop a bit i guess.

One left... the second water pipe which is near the front of the block - also drilled and tapped. where can i put that ?

What have other people done in aftermarket turbo kits??

Hope u can help

will have a look at mine at about 12pm today (lunch @ work!) and let ya know. I have a td4.2 with aftermarket turbo, so should be similar.
I am pretty sure the water lines come from the heater hoses but unsure after that.

Will let ya know

Cheers

Well I know this is going to be of no use to ya but....

didn't get a chance to have real good look but it looks like water in from thermo housing. Then there are a couple of bungs in the side of the block for oil and prolly water out too.

Sorry mate.

I am sure you could rig something up. And as for oil pressure dropping if putting in before the sender. I very much doubt you will notice anything.

Sorry couldnt help more
