Re: Best 33" Tyre for Heavy Troopy Q
Well the Troopy went over a weigh bridge, 3.2T empty.... no food, beer, fuel, missus, water etc etc, just the fit out and the Old Man. Turns out Cooper listens to feedback. The old man wrote to Cooper telling him his woes, and that the 33 x 12.5 x 15 hasnt the right weight rating for his Troopy and ...

Good tip on the 16" rims Scott. Thats a worthy upgrade.
The tyres are only around 3yrs old and havent worn well since day one.

Best 33" Tyre for Heavy Troopy Q
Hey, My old man has a troopy that is quite kitted out for Grey Nomad Touring - pop top, full camper etc (must be almost 4 ton). Currently he is running Cooper 33 x 12.5 x 15 STT's but has had 2 fail with cracks and just had one completely explode taking out brake lines and locking on the handbrake ...

80 Series Diesel TPS Guru's Required
Hi all, After my motor rebuild this week I am going to try to fix some bugs that have been bothering me for a while. My cruise is playing up ie: when turned on and set, the throttle will go flat on, then off a couple times and then cancel itself and I get a flashing cruise ligt on the dash. My auto ...

Re: Diesel Mech Help - Advise Required - They Seized My 80!
Well I got the 80 home yesterday. The bill came to a bit more than I originally hoped for but now I have basically a reco motor that seems to have been done very well. I am looking at it as a bit of luck really that this happened as the motor was ready to drop either a valve or drop a big end real ...

Re: Diesel Mech Help - Advise Required - They Seized My 80!
Well after a couple converstations this afternoon with mister man, it turns out that maybe it was a good thing this happened. My head was stuffed, a couple cracks around some valve seats and a head gasket leak between oil and water (ahh thats where the water was going and why some minor sludge ...

Diesel Mech Help - Advise Required - They Seized My 80!
I took my 97 1HDFT 80 series to a reputable diesel tuning / turbo workshop to have a full fuel service (injectors, valves, dyno etc). Left it with them this morning and asked them to do a compression test as it had started to use some water and to see if it was a head problem or a f'd hose clamp ...

Where do you get the Mangold stuf?? I tried the Wynns Radiator Flush. The bottle says leave for 10mins, I left it in while driving for an hour and it did nothing. didnt move anything. Going to have to step it up as I want it cleaned out so I can see if it is still leaking or not. All the goop in ...

A couple weeks ago I found some major goop in the radiator of my '97 80 Series with a 1HDFT engine. The local diesel mechanic was hedging bets that it wasnt the head but a leaking ...

80 Series Front Diff Leak / Pressure Problem
I need help to diagnose my front diff leaking problem. Its a 97 80 series with a front air locker. The air locker allways spits diff oil out the solenoid when used and seems to seep even when not used. The diff started to leak to the CV on the passenger side a few months ago and out the swivel ...

Well compression is fine but now the diesel guys says that fuel cut soleniod is most likely the culprit but to get it off, the soleniod is held on with security screws and you cant get to the wiring as its glued together or something. Then the good bit, he says that the fuel soleniod is "keyed" to ...

On some of my IFS CV's when I had the Surf, the genuine CV's came with a bolt in the end of the CV with a large washer instead of the circlip that stopped the CV from sliding in. I personally wouldnt bother with a 253. I had one in my FJ55 and shait did it love to rev but not much torque. Would be quicker than a 1HZ though. Had to drive it like a 4cyl. I also had a 308 in a 60 and it was better. Was better still after I had it stroked to a 355 by Come Racing. But then again ...

Hi all, My 97 TD's power steering has been getting worse over time, to now its almost not working at all at low speeds. (I got 33's). Only leek/symptom I got is my resovoir weeps slowly from the lid. I have checked the seal and it looks ok, I even bent down the tabs on the lid to get it to seal ...
